About Heard Nature Photographers Club

The Heard Nature Photographers Club is an auxiliary group hosted by the Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney, Texas.

We are an affiliate of the Photographic Societies of America and focus our attention on nature photography. This is where nature photography enthusiasts in North Texas meet.

Meetings

In general, we meet on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 am. During our meetings we usually have a guest speaker that covers a topic of interest to our group. We conclude each meeting with snacks and refreshments for a nice social time. Come meet others who share your passion with nature photography.

Visit The Club

Come try us on. See if the club fits for you. You are welcome to join us for any regular meeting from January through November. You don't need to sign up or reserve your place. Just show up and introduce yourself.

Our December meeting is a special program just for members. We have a feast and a special show and vote on our coveted Members Choice winner for the year. (Pre-registration is required for the December meeting.)

Where We Meet

We meet at the Heard Natural Science Museum, in McKinney, Texas. The museum is located near highway 75 and 121 (Sam Rayburn Tollway).

Club Membership

Membership in the club is only $20 each year. There is no cost for attending the monthly meetings. As an added benefit, on the day of our club meetings, you are free to walk the grounds of the sanctuary.

Although membership to the museum is not required for membership in the photography club, we do encourage you to consider supporting the museum with your membership or a donation. See the Heard Museum website for membership levels and fees.

Field Trips

The Heard Nature Photographers Club is an active club and offers field trips just about every month. This is a benefit for our members and most field trips are free of cost. From time to time, we may charge a fee that will cover the cost of putting the program together. Each member is responsible for admission fee, if there are any, for locations to which we travel.

Some trips are simple like hiking the trails at the museum in search of Trout Lilies. Other trips might take a group hundreds of miles away for several days. Come join the fun.
